Do you need the endorsement for Autism or PMH?
The Personnel Development Partnership Grant has financial support available to teachers with an ESE certification who are teaching students with Autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities and are required to have the endorsement by 2011. If you have taught this population for more than 2 years you may be eligible for a waiver of up to 6 of the 12 credits required, check with your district’s Human Resources Office for assistance applying for the waiver. Building the Legacy: A Training Curriculum on IDEA 2004
The Building the Legacy training curriculum was produced by NICHCY at the request of the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the U.S. Department of Education. The curriculum is intended to assist in understanding and implementation of the IDEA 2004 Part B regulations. The training curriculum has five overarching themes with multiple training modules beneath each theme. Excellent Resource for Children’s Mental Health Issues
The School Mental Health Project/Center for Mental Health in Schools at the UCLA Department of Psychology has developed an excellent website, http://smhp.psych.ucla.edu/, for resources for schools with regard to children’s mental health issues. A wide range of materials and resources related to recovering from natural disasters are available through the “Responding to a Crisis” icon. The site also features several search options that make locating information easier. A tour of the website is also available for first time visitors by clicking on the “First Visit” icon from the homepage.

National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Inc awards scholarships for graduate study in fields which address the special needs of children and youth. Deadline: February, 1st, 2009. The Second Annual Infant Toddler Conference is a non-profit, action packed educational event for childcare professionals, individuals who work through non-profit organizations to serve infants and toddlers, new parents and parents to be. Positive Beginnings Module 3 – Interventions and Supports for Children with Challenging Behavior
